LA FEPARAJ APOYA EL MOVIMIENTO "RIGHT MOVE" PARA LA PRESIDENCIA DE LA FIDE

En mayo del 2006 en paralelo con la Olimpiada, se llevará a cabo en Turín, Italia, la Asamblea General de la FIDE para elección de autoridades. Todo indica que será una de las elecciones más disputadas que habrán de llevarse a cabo pues aun antes de oficializarse las candidaturas - eso se hará en marzo del próximo año - el ambiente eleccionario ya está efervescente.

El actual Presidente Kirsan Ilyumzhinov ya anunció que volverá a presentar su candidatura. Hasta el momento también hicieron lo propio el banquero holandés Bessel Kok, el ex campeón mundial Anatoly Karpov y el francés Leo Battesti, actual vice presidente de la Federación Francesa de Ajedrez.

La Federación Paraguaya de Ajedrez encara la mencionada próxima elección con la seriedad que la misma se merece, pues está en juego nada menos que los destinos del ajedrez mundial. Además, es para nosotros una oportunidad magnífica para buscar el cambio positivo en la conducción de la FIDE.

Siguiendo la línea del respeto puntilloso a las leyes, es evidente que no podemos apoyar a quienes están hoy día al frente de la FIDE. Independientemente del resultado final, que pensamos será el triunfo de la honestidad y la institucionalidad, no podemos deshonrar a nuestro país apoyando a quienes interpretan las leyes y los estatutos de la FIDE para favorecer a sus amigos en detrimento del ajedrez y las federaciones.

Por ello, el Consejo de Delegados de la Federación Paraguaya de ajedrez, reunido en sesión del día miércoles 21 de diciembre resolvió apoyar decididamente el movimiento "Right Move" liderado por el holandés Bessel Kok.

Nos decidimos por "Right Move", no sólo por ser el movimiento mejor organizado hasta el momento, sino también el constituido por personas altamente capaces, honestas y confiables. Todos quienes integran el movimiento son personas que no dependen del ajedrez. Todos y cada uno de ellos son empresarios exitosos que darán su capacidad y valioso tiempo al deporte que aman, o ajedrecistas de reconocida trayectoria que buscan el bien del ajedrez. En el equipo no hay ningún oportunista. Nadie busca sacar nada de la FIDE sino todo lo contrario.

Entre las visiones se encuentra el punto “Tener una comunicación trasparente con todas las federaciones nacionales, jugadores, patrocinantes y anunciantes”, y ello ya se está cumpliendo hoy día. El Sr. Bessel Kok personalmente se comunica con los presidentes de federaciones intercambiando ideas en un clima de saludable democracia.

Haremos todo cuanto esté en nuestro alcance para que el movimiento "Right Move" gane las próximas elecciones para bien del ajedrez mundial. Para que el ajedrez vuelva por el cauce del respeto a las leyes. Para que el ajedrez vuelva por la senda de la intitucionalidad. Para que la honestidad vuelva a ser un valor, como durante la presidencia del Dr. Max Euwe.

FEPARAJ SUPPORTS THE CAMPAIGN "RIGHT MOVE" FOR THE PRESIDENCY OF THE FIDE

In May of the 2006 in parallel with the Olympiad, the General Assembly of FIDE will be held in Turin, Italy, and with it the election of a new Presidential board. Everything indicates that this will be one of the most disputed elections that will be held long before the candidacies are officialized - that will be done in March of next year. The electoral environment already is bubbling.

The current President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov already announced that he will present again his candidacy. Up to now also the other people who have done the same thing are the Dutch banker Bessel Kok, the former world champion Anatoly Karpov and the Frenchman Leo Battesti, a vice president of the French Chess Federation.

The Paraguayan Chess Federation has reviewed the forthcoming elections with the seriousness that these deserve, since there is in play nothing less than the destiny of world chess. Besides, it is for us a magnificent opportunity to seek the positive change in the management of FIDE.

By continuing along the line of respecting the rules, it is evident that we cannot support who is currently in charge of FIDE. Independent of the final result, that we believe there will be the triumph of honesty and professionalism, we cannot dishonour our country by supporting those who interpret the laws and the statutes of the FIDE in their favour to the detriment of the chess world and the Federations.

Because of this, the Council of Delegates of the Paraguayan Chess Federation, met in a session, on Wednesday 21st December, and resolved to support the campaign "Right Move" headed by the Dutch businessman Bessel Kok.

We decided for the "Right Move", not only since it is the better campaign organized up till now, but also it is made up of dependable, honest, and highly capable people. All the people who manage the campaign do not depend on the chess. All and each one of them are successful businessmen that will give their resources and valuable time to the sport they love, or else they are chess players of recognized worth that seek the good of chess. In the team there is no opportunism. Nobody seeks to gain anything from FIDE but to the contrary.

Among the vision one finds the point "To have open and transparent communication with all national federations, players, sponsors and advertisers. " and it already this is clear today. Mr. Bessel Kok personally communicates with the team exchanging ideas and discussing in a climate of healthy democracy.

We will do all as much as is in our reach so that the movement "Right Move" wins the next elections for the well being of the chess world. So that chess returns to respecting its statutes and laws. So that the chess return to the path of professionalism. So that uprightness is again a value, as during the presidency of the Dr. Max Euwe.
